How to Build Web site Traffic with Customized Content

To attract and engage qualified new visitors, says Tom Pick, a Web marketing consultant, construction firms must offer content that both helps the visitor and positions their company as the expert in that market niche.

Here are a few of Pick’s suggestions to attract visitors to your Web site with compelling content:

News feeds. No one has time to monitor all the various sources of industry intelligence. Publishing an aggregated news feed on your site lets you provide your visitors with timely industry news in one place. Services such as Moreover, NetContent, and YellowBrix offer customized news feeds based on your specifications.

White papers. Still popular with both marketers and prospects, a well-written white paper

subtly positions your company as an expert, while providing useful “how to” type information to the reader. You can write the white paper internally (if you have the right resources), hire a freelance writer, or have the paper authored on your behalf by an analyst group or recognized industry expert. This last option is the most expensive, but also has the greatest impact.

Webinars. Essentially PowerPoint presentations delivered online using an Internet conferencing service, webinars are an increasingly popular way to present educational and white-paper-like content. Upside: Webinars give your message the combined impact of audio, visuals, and interactivity. Downside: They tie your audience to their computers for 30 to 60 minutes.

Podcasts. Audio podcasts can be almost any length and used for a variety of purposes from creating an interest-generating “teaser” to an audio white paper. Once downloaded to an MP3 player, a podcast can be listened to virtually anywhere. Although you could record a podcast using various software packages or Web services, Pick recommends hiring an expert to assure that your podcast is produced and promoted effectively and professionally.

Getting Free Traffic From Google & Yahoo

Google and Yahoo! are the most used search engines on the Internet with about 35% of all Internet searches run on one or the other. That's about 70% of all Internet traffic from just two search engines. Actually it's more than 80% when you consider Google's affiliation with AOL, Netscape, and others.

Recently there have been major changes on both these engines. Many sites with top placements have lost their positions while others have achieved top positions on both engines without doing anything.

You can take advantage of these changes and get more traffic from both free.

Recent Changes at Google & Yahoo!

Google recently changed their page ranking system for search results. These changes have far reaching ramifications for your website. The quality and ranking of the pages you link to and those that link to you now matter more than ever.

Previously, Yahoo! would display its own directory listings first, before displaying Google's web listings. Now Google and Yahoo's! results are displayed together on one results page, in a simpler display.

Submission to Google is free, while submission to Yahoo! costs $299.00 PER YEAR, just to be considered for inclusion. Yahoo! only includes websites it considers unique in content. About half the websites that pay for inclusion don't even get listed.

A Yahoo! listing used to have a great deal of value for unique websites but now every listing will be competing with the entire Google database. Now, if you have a page that ranks high in Google, you'll be getting the same listing in Yahoo!'s web results free.

Following are some pointers on exactly how you might take advantage of these changes.

A Simple Google Placement Strategy

Simply put, your Yahoo! ranking is now determined by your Google ranking. If your site is doing well in Yahoo!, It now must also do well in Google also. Your Yahoo! strategy IS now your Google strategy. This makes your website optimization easier and more productive.
The Internet's purpose is to make in-demand information available, and a search engine's job is to provide the highest quality, most relevant information in its search results. Pages with the highest quality content will always rank higher in Google.
So getting good ranking in Google has always involved getting as many high quality links to your site as possible. It's even more important now. It's also important to make sure that your outgoing links take your visitors to high quality pages

Maximize Your Free Traffic

A traffic exchange normally works by you clicking on a button or image, which then displays a web site in a browser window.

You are credited with the ‘hit’ and you then have to wait an average of 15 seconds or 30 seconds before you can view again, earning another hit.

Earning two or even four hits a minute is a slow way to build up the necessary ‘hits’ to get the exchange to send you traffic in return, because not all of them give you a 1:1 return. Most give
you a 1:2, meaning for every two times you view a site, you get one return view back.

Here is the most intelligent method of maximizing those unproductive seconds between views.

Use a Traffic Exchange launcher, which at the click of a button, launches a number of separate browser windows instaneously. You then R/Click on the taskbar and click on ‘Cascade Windows’ to have all the open windows listed across the screen.

This is popular, some say it will do no good but still, Google give those site which uses these system the higher pagerank :P. On the otherhand, they will dramatically decrease CTR.

Oh well, here's a sample for you to try out (Be warned: You CAN'T use the bonus 2500 credits, you get just what you give ;). From this you will find links to many other similiar site or if you want a simple list, read this post

Successful Internet Marketing

Interenet marketing, to most, it's just what stand behind some "make money at home" program. No, it's more than that.

If you are a business owner you will probably be looking for viable ways to increase the traffic to your website and are probably trying to do this through different internet marketing techniques.

Most new business owners may find the concept of internet marketing a little overwhelming however a little time reading and understanding internet marketing can quickly erase these fears.

Internet marketing is not based on luck, it involves a lot of hard work and effort. Although when searching the internet you will find programs that will promise to give you success instantly or in a few days, what you need to realise is that any scam or scheme that says things like that will never amount to anything. The simple fact is if you want to make money on the internet through your business you have to work hard and be patient.

Internet Marketing is a form of advertising. It is done via the internet by various ways including

Affiliate Programs, E-mail advertising, directory submission, linking, writing articles and submitting to article sites etc

Internet marketing is also commonly known as online marketing, it is a way of communicating with the market place to advertise and sell your product.

Although internet marketing has continued to grow and has had a huge impact on internet businesses a lot of people will give up after a shot time if they do not see results. Internet marketing is an important aspect of a business and one you have put the work it will continue to advertise your product for you while you continue with other aspects of your work.

It is important to plan ahead, if you decide to add you website details in the form of directory submission, this task can be long and rather boring but can benefit your site in many ways. Make sure you have a file saved with you website details so you can simply cut and paste it into the relevant places to save time.

Most directory submissions will need the following information:-

Your website URL

Your Name

A description of your website

A resource box (always remember to add a link to your site).

Articles are another excellent way of bringing traffic to you site as well as establishing links to your site. There are many sites on the internet that you can send your article to, most of which do not require a link back which is always an added bonus. This is a great way to talk about your product and once added to your website will add quality content also.

The main thing to remember about Internet marketing is that you only get out what you put in. some of it will take a long time to establish its self but any promotion of your site is of great benefit to you. If you do not have time your self to do this employ someone who will or ask a family member.

Internet marketing is an important part of any online business.

My backlink checker

Check your link popularity! For more information on what link ppopularity is, and how can you make money from it, read the link popularity FAQ and this article

Link popularity check is one of the best ways to quantifiably and independently measure your website's online awareness and overall visibility. Simply put, link popularity refers to the total number of links or "votes" that a search engine has found for your website.

Here are some ideas for useful data you can gather using the Link Popularity tool:

1. Total number of pages in each search engines index that contains a link to your site, including your own website.
2. Browse through the sites that are linking to you. This gives you a view of the volume and quality of pages linking to you. It’s another way to view the sites that may be referring traffic to you. Once you find out who is linking to you and where they are linking to, you can understand the areas of your site that are performing well. You’ll also be able to strategize ways to improve your reach and performance by knowing your audience.
3. How are your competitors performing in search engines? If they are performing well, you can look at the sites that are linking to them to understand the places you need to improve your visibility.

This tool SHOULD NOT be used to:

1. Determine the dollar ($$) value of a website domain name. This tool is simply provided as a convenience and the user should take note that not all Links are equal in the eyes of the search engines. Just because one site has more links than another does not mean that it is a better site or necessarily more popular.
2. Excessively track link popularity values. Measuring your link popularity values once per month is more than enough. Checking daily or weekly is not a good use of your time. Instead, go create some new content that your visitors would benefit from. Suspicious activity may be reported to the search engines at Marketleap’s discretion.

In the future, I will make it a button so you can place it on your site. Stay tuned :)

List : Traffic exchangers

List of traffic exchangers

This is a list of traffic exchanges. With those, you can surf others' site for credits then use them to promote your own site or even sell them (but who need to sell when there are PPC engines which pay better for traffic ;) ).

Traffic generated though OUGO browser tends to be more valuable, I'm ot sure why yet :P

OUGO browser exchangers

In order to surf these site, OUGO is required. Please read my ppc promoting guide for a detailed manual of OUGO :P

"Covenient" exchangers

These sites are the most easy to surf sites. Just go to the surf URL (provided upon signup) and start earning credits with any browser without even logging in! There's a trade-off as those sites are not managed well, sometimes they contains frame breakers that will stop the surf and the server may freeze. Their biggest disadvantage is their traffic seems to be the most useless (to my experiences). However, if you just want some hits then they are a good choice.

Auto traffic exchangers

Login, start the surf bar and earn credits, not much to do :P

Manual traffic exchangers

Manual exchanger requires user click on some number at each page to make sure the user is paying attention and is not cheating. These may be very time-consuming but there's someone who had surfed 10 000 sites (10 sec timer) in one day though (that's not me :P ). They usually allow credits exchange, around 0.1 c / credit, and their traffic really counts too :P

* Credits can be converted to cash
