Google Checkout promotions: $5 off to $50 off at select merchants

Besides the ubiquitous Buy.com $10 deal, Google Checkout now has a variety of discount at select online merchants. Because these discounts are instantaneous, they aren't subject to the hassles of yesterday's PayPal promotion (ongoing at some stores). In most cases, these discounts stack on top of coupons and sale prices. (When a code is given by Google Checkout, it usually can't stack with another coupon)

  • CompUSA.com: $10 off orders over $100;

  • drugstore.com $10 off orders over $75;

  • TigerDirect.com $10 off orders over $100;

  • TheNerds.net $5 off orders over $30;

  • Shoebuy.com: $5 off all purchases via coupon code "GOGOOG".

Google Checkout: 2 airline miles for every $1 spent

At participating merchants, pay with Google Checkout and receive 2 airline miles for every 1 spent for select airlines' frequent flier programs. That's in addition to any other sales and offers available at the Google Checkout merchant. The following airlines are taking part in this promotion: Alaska, Continental, Delta, Midwest, Northwest, US Airways, and United. A maximum of 10,000 miles can be earned. Offer ends December 31.

Belong to one of the frequent flier programs' co-branded credit cards? Register your card with Google Checkout and use it to earn additional bonus miles per dollar spent.

If you don't carry a airline miles credit card, here's some offers that will help you maximize your mileage accrual during this holiday season:

* US Airways Signature Visa: 25,000 bonus miles and one point per $1 spent;
* Alaska Airlines Credit Card: 20,000 bonus miles and one point per $1 spent;
* Continental Airlines World MasterCard from Chase: 20,000 bonus miles and one point per $1 spent;
* United Mileage Plus Signature Visa Card from Chase: 20,000 bonus miles and one point per $1 spent; and
